High School math provides students an in-depth study of modeling and applying functions. Physics, work, recreation, consumer issues, financial policy, and scientific investigations are just a few of the areas from which applications will originate. Students will move from an inductive approach to deductive methods of proof in their study of mathematical concepts. Reasoning skills will be emphasized and students will broaden their use of the coordinate plane. Students will participate in hands-on activities with manipulatives, calculators, and other appropriate technology. SREB students will focus on preparation for the placement exam relating to minimum requirements for MAT143.
